After seeing the Watchmen in the Imax, I decided to make a list of movies that I want to see in the Imax in 2009. So, without further delay….
Monsters vrs Aliens – March 27
Not my first choice, but one I will be taking my Goddaughter to see because its all 3d in the Imax and I am sure she will really enjoy it.
Star Trek – May 8th
Not because I am a huge Trekkie fan, but because I am a science fiction fan and word has it that J.J. Abrams has done a kick ass job on this movie. I hope he resurrects the franchise because Nemesis was awful and its time for a fresh start.
Terminator Salvation – May 22nd
I am a huge terminator fan. The casting of Christian Bale looks to be a good choice, but the proof will be in the pudding so to speak. The Rise of the Machines movie was decent but not as good as the previous two movies. I am hoping for another fresh start to the franchise. There is a trilogy planned so lets hope they get the first movie right.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen – May 25th
The first transformers movie was pretty good, but it didn’t knock my socks off. I so wanted it to be that “knock your socks off” kind of movie when I saw it in theaters since I was a huge transformers fan back in the day. I collected the toys and watched the cartoons. I even have the cartoon series on DVD. It just drug on too much and I lost interest in parts of the movie. I am going to give the sequel a shot in the Imax and hope that this movie is better than the first one.
The IMAX Maybe List
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian – May 22nd
I wasn’t totally impressed with the first Night at the Museum, but I thought it was ok. If this one looks better, I might go see it.
A Christmas Carol – November 6th
It sounds like “Scrooged” all over again. I guess we will see how the previews look but the cast is promising.
Avatar – December 18th
James Cameron is going to have to pull a rabbit out of his hat if he wants me to see this movie. It sounds interesting, but I don’t know if I would go see it unless the previews look pretty darn good.
