Must see Imax movies

After seeing the Watchmen in the Imax, I decided to make a list of movies that I want to see in the Imax in 2009. So, without further delay….

Monsters vrs Aliens – March 27

Not my first choice, but one I will be taking my Goddaughter to see because its all 3d in the Imax and I am sure she will really enjoy it.

Star Trek – May 8th

Not because I am a huge Trekkie fan, but because I am a science fiction fan and word has it that J.J. Abrams has done a kick ass job on this movie. I hope he resurrects the franchise because Nemesis was awful and its time for a fresh start.

Terminator Salvation – May 22nd

I am a huge terminator fan. The casting of Christian Bale looks to be a good choice, but the proof will be in the pudding so to speak. The Rise of the Machines movie was decent but not as good as the previous two movies. I am hoping for another fresh start to the franchise. There is a trilogy planned so lets hope they get the first movie right.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen – May 25th

The first transformers movie was pretty good, but it didn’t knock my socks off. I so wanted it to be that “knock your socks off” kind of movie when I saw it in theaters since I was a huge transformers fan back in the day. I collected the toys and watched the cartoons. I even have the cartoon series on DVD. It just drug on too much and I lost interest in parts of the movie. I am going to give the sequel a shot in the Imax and hope that this movie is better than the first one.

The IMAX Maybe List

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian – May 22nd

I wasn’t totally impressed with the first Night at the Museum, but I thought it was ok. If this one looks better, I might go see it.

A Christmas Carol – November 6th

It sounds like “Scrooged” all over again. I guess we will see how the previews look but the cast is promising.

Avatar – December 18th

James Cameron is going to have to pull a rabbit out of his hat if he wants me to see this movie. It sounds interesting, but I don’t know if I would go see it unless the previews look pretty darn good.

The slimest of margins

My playoff game last night with Donkey Punch was another one that we won by the skin of our teeth.  We won 4-3, and all 3 goals were defensive breakdowns in front of me or odd man rushes.  No weak goals at all which really made me feel great.  The one thing that was dissapointing though was the fact that we barely won the game.  We have had so many chances to score but just keep shooting over the net or wide of the net for that matter.  Our biggest two playoff games are coming up on Sunday when we play the Phantoms and Puckups.  Both of which will be no easy task thats for sure.  Winning one of the two games will ensure us of a championship game birth and thats what I am aiming for.

Malys is a very strong 2-2 and looking to improve on their record this week.

The Stick Heads will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday, but also has a 2-2 record.  A win on Tuesday would bring me closer to my 5-5 goal I have set for myself which is a challenging goal to say the least.

My ice hockey team is in need of a victory and I have to bring my A game on Wednesday.

Finally, Marketlab and Structural Standards have 2-2 records.  I will be looking to make them both 3-2 by the end of the day on Thursday.
