After having an opportunity to sleep on things last night, and trust me it was a little difficult to get to sleep without thinking of it, I am feeling better today.  Still a little down on myself, even though I am trying hard to get back on the horse.  Some points to consider.

1.  I wasn’t on my game last night.  Plain and simple fact.  I don’t know if it was a lack of focus, or something else.  I just don’t know how to explain it.

2.  That said, I played well enough to hold that team to 3 goals.  Two of which weren’t my fault.  The second goal of the game was a low shot that hit the far post and went in.  Based on the same shot I let in last week that was similar to this one, I need to work better on my angles.

3.  In any tight game, the stops a goaltender makes are amplified.  Just like last week, with the game tied at 3, I held my ground and came up with some good stops.  Last night, I made some saves, but I wasn’t under relentless pressure.  To be honest, I felt like I had the same misfortune as the Ferris State goaltender on Friday night last week.  At one point, he had 11 shots on him and 4 goals against.  That is a tough pill to swallow.

4.  I have to give credit to our defense.  This team we played last night didn’t have superstar players, but we held our ground.  Our offense played pretty well too.  We just ran into a hot goalie and it stiffled us.

The captain is right.  We can’t get down on ourselves.  We have a off week next week, but are going to practice on Tuesday.  We have 6 games after that, and are still very much alive for a playoff run.  I have every confidence we will get that far.  Just getting in is half the battle, but it will give us a legit shot at the title.  That is my goal.
