Sometimes they just don’t go your way

When I talk about they, I talk about bounces. In the first game I played tonight, bounces wouldn’t have helped me. The second game was another matter.

Friday 12/4/03 – Ionia Skateland vrs Malys
I knew going into this game it was going to be a tough to keep the score close. With Ionia’s leading scorers out with a suspension and an injury respectively, the end result was a 9-2 loss. I faced a ton of shots in this game and I feel I played pretty well overall considering the constant pressure I was under.

X-Men vrs Mighty Mallards
Here is the game I wish I had a couple bounces go my way. I had a rather embarrassing goal go around the boards, off my defenseman, hit my skate, and go into the net. Another defenseman had a bad bounce go off his skate and into the net off a centering pass. Those two goals were the difference in a 7-5 loss. The other five goals I can’t complain about. Well, I can complain, but it won’t do any good.

I worked on my butterfly more today and it was much improved over last night. Now, it is 11:35 and I am pretty wiped out. I have played 6 games in the span of the last three nights. I am looking forward to sleeping in a little bit tomorrow. Saturday will bring some computer gaming in the morning followed by covering a college rollerhockey tournament for Michigan Hockey Magazine in the late afternoon. If Curtis Joseph is playing on Saturday night, I might jump at the chance to see him play.
